About The Interviewer:


Steve has 18 years’ experience in the Project Management and Technology Recruitment Industry in Sydney and the UK. His main area of specialization and passion is in the sourcing, delivery and support of Project Practitioners, delivery teams and Project based resources. He is the Associate Director for Career Development of the Project Management Institute Sydney Chapter and a trusted advisor to the Sydney PMI Board on recruitment matters.  He is a career coach to several senior PM's and has developed the PMI Career Development Course for Project Managers.  Commercially he takes pride in developing strong relationships with his clients and works closely with them to gain a strong understanding of their business and the challenges they face.

The speakers:

Richard Linstead

Richard LinsteadRichard is a senior innovation executive, with 15 years experience in developing and delivering user-focused products and services, across a variety of industry verticals. He is passionate (and very vocal) about the power of Lean and Agile principles to enable genuine disruption, and provide the next generation of business and consumer opportunities. 

Richard has developed and managed large cross-functional delivery and development teams at digital agency Cimex, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and is currently Head of Innovation Programs and Ventures at Westpac Group. He has helped with major digital transformation initiatives to focus organisations on the needs of the customer, rather than the pre-conceptions of the business. A firm believer and champion for the use of Agile practices at scale to effectively manage the inherent uncertainty of product development and changing technology. 

With a background and skillset that straddle brand, product, technology and delivery, I focus on capability and flexibility and have coached and developed teams to challenge existing processes and drive through iterative change. Above all, as either entrepreneur or intrapreneur, I aspire to create and maintain the energy, efficiency and passion of a start-up in the teams I manage, and the products we create.

Dr Alicia Aitken

Alicia AitkenAlicia is the Head of Investment Management & Delivery within Group Transformation at ANZ. The Investment Management and Delivery Office is responsible for ensuring there is a clear thread that runs through from strategy, to investment allocation, the creation of work and delivery. As part of Group Transformation the teams support the organisation such that the ANZ strategy is executed efficiently and effectively in service of our customers, our employees and our shareholders.

Prior to her role at ANZ Alicia held the position of Chief Project Officer for Telstra, where she led the organisation's journey to establish project management as a stand-alone capability separate from IT, business and engineering skills.

Alicia spent several years as CEO, Human Systems International now a PMI owned company. Her experience ranges through several industries including Telecommunications, Banking & Finance, Defence & Aerospace, Pharmaceutical,

Engineering & Construction, Mining, Oil & Gas and Government. Alicia is also the chairperson for the International Centre for Complex Project Management (ICCPM). She holds a PhD in project management and psychology (with a particular focus on how project managers cope with stress) and a bachelor of business.

Alastair Bor

Alastair BorAlastair Bor is the Deputy Executive Director of Business Change and Solution Delivery at Transport for NSW. Alastair leads a team of agile and passionate delivery people to enable business strategy and the innovative new Future Transport initiative.  

“In the time I’ve been here I’ve managed to drive several large transformations in the way that Transport operates with respect to using technology to underpin business value.” Alastair comes to the NSW Public Service after having spent the past 20 years in the private sector building highly effective delivery and operations teams across multiple business domains in large and complex organisations.  “Working in government allows me to work at a scale that is difficult to find elsewhere. We are building things that people not even yet born will enjoy and use to enhance their lives. My long background in the private sector has given me some key skills and perspectives that I can use in government to disrupt the traditional ways of thinking about these large scale problems like traffic congestion and safety.”

In his spare time, Alastair enjoys spending time with his young family and tinkering with the latest electronics.
