PMI Sydney Chapter Volunteers Event – Get Involved and Make a Difference!
Please join us to celebrate Australia Day and the great Australian pastime of volunteering at our first PMI Sydney Chapter event for 2018.
Vikas Patole of the PMI Sydney Chapter will be speaking about the framework for volunteering for PMI, if you would like to volunteer for PMI this is a great opportunity to find out more information.
We will also hear a presentation from Valerie Hoogstad of The Centre for Volunteering, sample some classic Australian food, and bring some cheer with a live performance by Jay an Australian musician who has performed alongside the cream of the crop in the Australian Country Music Industry as well as performing on bills including American Superstars!

About your presenters:
Vikas has extensive senior management experience in leading large-scale IT divisions, projects and transformation programs driving strategic initiatives and providing leading edge information solutions. Vikas’s significant achievements include leading strategic initiatives that address key issues facing ‘CXO’ such as agility, innovation, growth, cost efficiency and increased productivity.
Vikas’s experience spans over multiple industries including Banking, Insurance, Telecommunication, Transport, Utility, Media & Entertainment industries in Australia and overseas. Vikas worked in Australia, India & Bahrain (AG).
Vikas is a PMI member of the PMI since 2007. Vikas joined the PMI Sydney Chapter board in 2012 and successfully managed the following portfolios:
Vikas holds M.Sc. (Applied Mathematics) M.M.S (Master of Management), and B.A. from Pune University in India.
Vikas has PMP®, Prince II, ITIL V3 foundation & 6Sigma green belt certification.
Vikas is Associate Fellow of Australian Institute of Management and Senior Member of Australian Computer Society. Member of PMI.
Valerie started her professional life as a psychologist but went into the university sector a few years later. She lectured at UTS, University of Sydney and ACU. She has written 16 books related to the education and communication sector. However her most recent career was as Director of International Education in universities. This involved heading up a team which sent students in and out of Australia .She is currently on several boards including The Centre for Volunteering (Peak Body for Volunteering in NSW) and Volunteering Australia, the national volunteering board. Valerie has been volunteering herself for many years.
