Title: The Role of an Integrated and Optimised Project Management Plan in Achieving Project Success

Synopsis: Managing projects in today’s world is becoming more complex than ever because of disruptive technology, increasing uncertainties, risks and bureaucracies, high clients and stakeholders’ expectations, resource constraints, economic fluctuations, volatile political climate and sophisticated organisational governance. Hence, for a project manager, synchronising all the different aspects of a project, resources, baselines and processes to achieve a successful outcome has become a challenge. Optimised integration of project management subsidiary plans and baselines results in project success in all aspects such as financial, performance and environmental. This presentation will explore the components of a proper project management plan and the integration and optimisation of components to achieve better outcomes in managing a project. Success in project management depends on defining and proactively managing the project’s relationship to the parent program and portfolio or even whole business and strategic objectives. Delivery of project business case while meeting or exceeding targets set for project objectives is also a key factor for success.

Presenter: Dr Moe Mojtahedi, B.Sc., M.Sc., PhD, PEng., PMP
