Chapter UpdateA lot has been happening in the last few months for PMI Sydney and we are delighted to provide an update on the reinvigoration of the Chapter, on our upcoming events calendar, new Directors, and the upcoming elections for PMI Sydney Board. In leadership news for the Chapter, Leo Coco is PMI Sydney’s new Director for Professional Development, in addition to Jasmin Craufurd-Hill taking over from Gaurav Wadekar as the Director for Volunteers and Academic Engagement. Together they bring a wealth of Board and professional experience to the Chapter and have hit the ground running, connecting into the Board’s ongoing work. On the 28th of June our AGM was held, with a high level of member representation, which has allowed us to move forward with updating the processes and ongoing activities of the Chapter. We recently co-sponsored a Women in Project Management Networking Forum event for Australia and New Zealand, with Annie Sheehan and Bushra Nur speaking on project sponsorship. We also have quite a few upcoming events that will open for registration on our Chapter’s website over the coming days, including PMI’s Managing Director (Asia Pacific) and Global Head of Construction, Ben Breen speaking on the new PMI Construction Certification; our Membership Director Hammam (Marshal) Alkouz speaking about the 6th edition and recently released 7th edition of the PMBOK Guide; and Jasmin Craufurd-Hill speaking on perspectives from the nuclear industry on the impact of diversity on global project teams. In membership news, we’re aware of an issue that has impacted auto-renewals, which we’re working with PMI Global to resolve; details on how to (temporarily) resolve this are outlined (below) in the newsletter. There are also a range of Assistant Director and volunteer roles that the Board will be seeing to fill over the coming months, this will be put up on the VRMS as we move forward. Finally, we are pleased to confirm that a Call for Nominations for the remaining Board positions for the PMI Sydney Chapter will open this month. Please keep an eye on your e-mails and ensure that your Chapter membership is up to date should you be interested in joining the Chapter’s leadership team. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming Chapter events and professional development sessions. Omer Iqbal President - PMI Sydney 2 September 2021
Re-establishing Membership AutoRenewalsThe Chapter is aware of an issue that has impacted re-established auto-renewals, which we’re working with PMI Global to resolve. In the meantime, this can be overcome by logging into myPMI and clicking on Membership Overview, selecting Join Another Chapter and reselecting Join Chapter for the Sydney Chapter. This will re-establish your auto-renewal so that your membership renewal for PMI and the Sydney Chapter occur in one transaction and invoice, on the same date. Note: current Chapter membership is also a requirement for nominating for the PMI Sydney Board.
