Date: Wednesday, 4 October 2023
Time: 5:30-7:30 PM AEDT
Location: Online (Zoom)
Lean Startup is a forward-thinking methodology designed for businesses and product development. While it's immensely beneficial in a startup setting, Lean Startup is equally effective in non-startup environments, driving initiatives and yielding results more efficiently. The aim is to expedite the product development process, allowing for the swift assessment of a business model's viability. This rapid pace is achieved through systematic business-hypothesis testing, regular iterative product launches, and a pronounced focus on validated learning derived from actual feedback. By valuing genuine customer insights over mere intuition and favouring adaptability over stringent planning, the Lean Startup method provides a
resilient framework that is often less prone to failures compared to traditional product development tactics.
Central to Lean Startup is the conviction that startups can diminish market risks by attentively addressing the needs of their early customers. This strategy alleviates the need for considerable initial funding, thus curbing the chances of costly launches and potential financial setbacks.
Topics include:
-Introduction to Lean Start-Up: The philosophy, origins, and key principles.
-Build-Measure-Learn Cycle: Understanding the core feedback loop of the Lean methodology and its implications for faster project delivery and decision-making.
-Minimum Viable Product (MVP): Learn how to use the concept of MVP to test hypotheses, gather data, and validate project directions with minimal resources.
-Pivoting vs. Perseverance: Identifying when to make a fundamental shift in your project direction versus when to stay the course.
-Q&A Session: An opportunity to clarify doubts, share personal experiences, and seek guidance on specific challenges.
