PMI SC - Leadership Lessons from the Oracle of Delphi
🎯 Event Overview
“Tell me, O Oracle, what should I do?”
If only we had a crystal ball. Or an oracle. Or at least something more reliable than the last status report or budget forecast. These days, many of us turn to AI with the same hope people once placed in ancient prophecy, certainty, reassurance and a sense that someone, or something, has the answer.
In times of uncertainty, leaders are often tempted to reach for tools, data, forecasts and increasingly AI, in search of clarity. Yet better tools do not automatically create better judgement. The real challenge is knowing how to ask better questions, interpret what we hear, and lead people through ambiguity, resistance and change.
Join Jürgen Oschadleus, recently returned from Delphi, Greece, as he explores the story of the Oracle of Delphi and its surprising relevance to modern leadership, project delivery and decision-making. Drawing on history, psychology and practical leadership insight, Jürgen will examine why people are drawn to certainty, how predictions can be misunderstood, and what leaders can do to avoid false confidence in reporting, forecasting and AI-generated advice.
The evening will conclude with a 30-minute panel discussion that brings together perspectives on AI, change management and personal transformation. The panel will explore how leaders can improve adoption by focusing not only on systems and process, but also on the individual human journey through change. From trust and resistance to behaviour shifts and stakeholder commitment, this discussion will connect ancient lessons with very modern transformation challenges.
Join us for an evening of thought-provoking insights, practical reflection and rich discussion on how leaders can navigate uncertainty with greater wisdom, curiosity and care.
