PMI Sydney x Women in Projects online series: How to Break the Glass Ceiling
 
Session Overview
Please join us in our first PMI Sydney Chapter's x Women in Projects online webinar for 2026. This session will feature special guests Yasmina Khelifi (France) and Laura Lazzerini Neuwirth (Czechia).
 
This session will address how to bring more women into project management, beginning with statistical evidence of the importance of diversity for project success and examining the current number of women in project management. Drawing from our experiences and research, we will analyze the roadblocks women face and share key strategies to break the glass ceiling.
 
Session Objectives

In this webinar, you will learn how to:

  • Identify the roadblocks many women may face, from the recruitment process to the achievement of leadership roles.
  • Develop strategies to overcome these roadblocks and move upward.

Laura Lazzerini Neuwirth is an accomplished head of project management office (PMO) and a former board director. She holds a master’s degree in electronic engineering with a specialization in microelectronics from the University of Pisa in Italy, marking the beginning of her professional journey. With over two decades of experience in project management across various industries, including automotive, energy, yachting and telecom, Laura’s strategic thinking, executive stakeholder management and people management skills have been instrumental in driving organizational success. Laura is co-author of PMBOK 8th Edition, a certified Project Management Professional (PMP)® and a certified PMI PMO Certified Professional (PMIPMOCP)™.


Fluent in Italian, Czech, English and German, Laura excels in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex challenges across different geographies. As a public speaker, Laura shares her expertise on PMO leadership, strategy execution and executive stakeholder management at international conferences and seminars. Known for her ability to connect with diverse audiences and simplify complex concepts, she inspires others to achieve excellence and embrace innovation.

Yasmina Khelifi is an engineer and an experienced project manager with more than 20 years of experience working with leading stakeholders in the telecom industry. Yasmina strives to build collaborative bridges between people to ensure project success. She is also a passionate volunteer at PMI and contributes regularly as a blogger on ProjectManagement.com and as an international correspondent for PMWorld Journal.


Yasmina coauthored “The Volunteering Journey to Project Leadership” (CRC Press, 2024). As a speaker, she regularly talks in international conferences and webinars about global leadership and project management. She loves learning languages and can speak six languages. Yasmina holds a Master of Science in Telecom from a French Grande École, near Paris.
