The Ensemble Way The Ensemble Way offers a systems thinking lens to the challenge of creating high performance in the planning and performance of work. It is made up of three component parts: Operations: Ensemble uses Eli Goldratt’s Theory of Constraints as its operating philosophy. It incorporates Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM), Drum Buffer Rope (DBR) production management and Dynamic Buffer Management (DBM) for supply chain replenishment. It incorporates Constraint Accounting (CA) as its management accounting toolset and the Logical Thinking Process (LTP) as the tool of choice for critical thinking. Organisational Development: Ensemble draws heavily on the work of the MIT centre for organisational learning, including Peter Senge’s Fifth Discipline approach, Ed Schein’s work on Leadership and Culture and Otto Scharmer’s work on Theory U. Organisational Design: Ensemble’s work in organisational design is informed by Elliott Jaques Stratified Systems Theory and its associated texts on the Requisite Organization. It has more recently included the work of General Stanley McChrystal’s ideas contained in Team of Teams. Your Presenter: David Hodes David is CEO and Founder of Ensemble Consulting Group. David is a qualified system thinker and practitioner and certified expert in Theory of Constraints.
