Collaborative Design Approach Challenges for IT facilities in Construction
Join us in Parramatta for the PMI Sydney Chapter May event!
The next PMI SC event on 22nd May 2018 will be hosted in Parramatta, at the Western Sydney University City Campus, Parramatta, where Stuart Penny, Kerry Holling and Bill Parasiris will discuss collaborative design approach and delivery challenges for IT facilities in construction. The event will be hosted in the building that our three speakers contributed to delivery of during its construction.
Stuart, Program Manager – IT Transformation, Toyota Financial Services, will discuss the challenges of being an IT PM on a major construction project and look at how we were able to achieve some genuine and significant innovation despite the waterfall nature of the overall project. The value of prototyping will also be explored along with some lessons learnt about winning the important battles on IT requirements so that the building remains capable of supporting ongoing innovation and change.
Kerry, Chief Information and Digital Officer, Western Sydney University, will discuss the role of Senior Executives, that is ensuring that programmes and projects have the greatest chance of success by providing the tangible resources and somewhat intangible support needed to be successful. Specifically, the actions and approaches that were required to deliver the Parramatta City Campus project.
Bill Parasiris, Executive Director, Estate and Commercial, at Western Sydney University, will discuss the key matters to consider when delivering a project of this size and strategic priority. Emphasising the importance of a holistic approach and quality engagement with key stakeholders, Bill will detail the challenges and lessons learnt throughout this still-live process.
This Parramatta location is easy to get to by public transport and is a 6 minute walk from Parramatta Station (see the walking map below from Parramatta Station to the venue).
