About the topic:

While the full commercial impact of the COVID-19 on Australian construction sector will become more apparent in the next few weeks or months, there are many questions about the magnitude of a potential wide range of impacts, their expected timeline and correlations as well as possible mitigation actions which organisations should put in place now. There are many ways to assess the organisation’s risk exposure and while there is no right or wrong answer, the speaker will highlight the importance of having a comprehensive commercial risk assessment on project schedules and cost estimates, preferably as quantitative and scenario-based as possible, enabling a risk-based mitigation action plan being developed and implemented. Even though the situation, its circumstances, and boundaries will change, leading organisations need to put processes and action plans in place now and then monitor and update regularly as needed.

With a successful record of executive positions and as an industry innovation award winner, Pedram is currently leading and inspiring teams for setting a benchmark in delivery of Integrated Project Controls (Scope, Time, Cost, Risk) and Project Risk Management to provide clients transparent and practical risk engineering solutions in developing and delivering major projects. Prior to this, Pedram was Jacobs Technical Director (Risk) across Asia Pacific and also Head of Planning & Risk for UGL in a wide range of projects across Transport, Water, Power Generation, Coal, LNG/Oil & Gas.

Pedram is a Gateway and Deep Dive Reviewer, Forensic Analyst and a member of:
- INSW Investor Assurance Framework, Gateway Reviewer Panel
- VIC OPV Infrastructure Projects Experts Panel
- Department of Infrastructure Transport, Cities and Regional Development (Contingency Modelling and Theory Advisory), and
- EA Infrastructure Advisory Panel, a prestigious panel of 15 industry experts representing EA views and inform infrastructure policy work by Australian Governments.

He is also an innovation award winner from Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) and CPB Contractors for his exceptional knowledge and practical application of statistical analysis and the Primavera system in reviewing project risks and schedules.

He has been the NSW President of Risk Engineering Society (RES) since 2013 and the key author of the 2nd Edition of Contingency Guideline, published by Risk Engineering Society (RES) in Feb 2019.

Pedram is highly skilled in Project Planning, Controls, Monte Carlo Simulation, Schedule/Cost Risk Analysis, Earned Value (EV), and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). Pedram is also a lecturer/tutor of project controls and risk management to postgraduate students in University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and University of Western Sydney (UWS).
