PMI Action Learning Group
PMI Action Learning Group
Action Learning is a powerful approach for working on real life problems. It is defined as:
A continuous process of learning and reflection that happens with the support of a group of colleagues, working with real problems, with the intention of getting things done. (McCormack et al 2004).
Action learning is a powerful tool to improve performance, promote learning, and position individuals and organisations to adapt better in turbulent and complex times. While originating in the UK, Action Learning is used worldwide including government, large corporates, small and medium business as well as not for profits.
Action learning brings together a group of participants consisting of real project managers working on real problems in a real time-frame, looking for real solutions using action learning techniques. Each member of the group is as important as every other member and each has a contribution to make. It is a conversation space, focused on goal setting, deepening awareness around real key issues, taking action, and accountability. Each member benefits from the collective wisdom of the group.
Action Learning is a facilitated process that includes structure while working on real life challenges and at the same time walking away with learnings.
