Women in Projects - Unlocking the Opportunity : 18 August 2020 Hosted by Renai Details Details We are looking forward to welcoming our next guest speaker Elise Stevens to discuss finding a Mentor, finding a Sponsor, and her new book ‘Unlocking the Opportunity’. Elise works with women in project management roles to reinforce within themselves their true VALUE to their team, company, and industry. Elise provides a channel for women’s voices to be HEARD, SUPPORTED and EMBRACED in project management with my podcast series, personal training, digital courses and workshops. It’s time for women to AIM HIGH in the industry, and to know that they can absolutely achieve their career goals! Elise works with incredible women who have extensive knowledge, skills and passion for their career, but unfortunately, the high pressure and status quo within the workplace has left them feeling emotionally exhausted; they have lost confidence in their own hard-earned skills, and are considering leaving their roles. For over two decades, Elise has worked closely with project managers to positively impact and innovate effective management processes. Elise has collaborated with a range of organisations including Queensland Urban Utilities, Ipswich City Council, Coca-Cola Amatil, Hutchinson Telecoms and Ansett Australia. Elise is here to RE-IGNITE the passion and satisfaction that you once had for your career, and to re-connect your team members for true CONFIDENCE in the workplace. https://elisestevens.co/ Looking forward to seeing you online! PMI Sydney Chapter : Evening Event 20 August 2020 Listening to the unstated : why it is critical for project managers to look beyond the obvious The difference between a good project manager and a not so good one is the ability to look at the space between the obvious RAG rules and status and interpret what is really going on. It can be called intuition, instinct, a gut feeling, a hunch, a sixth sense, proactive foresight, or anticipatory futures literacy. This active workshop will introduce PMI Sydney members and guests to a number of approaches that come from Anticipatory Futures Research. Tools and mindsets that can be used to increase your personal level of anticipation and responsiveness in projects as well as tools that generate participatory and collective input. There will be an opportunity for participants to share their own approaches to ‘looking beyond the obvious’ and how this can be applied to bringing richer project status intelligence and better value to the business and the community. PMO Sydney: How PMOs can get the best out of their Project Sponsors: 26 August 2020 Hosted by Amireh Amirmazaheri Details PMOs must have a senior sponsor or champion; not having one increases the chance for PMO failure. PMI Sydney Chapter Evening Event: 27 August 2020 Leading in this project called LIFE ... Life is unpredictable. We set goals, we make plans, we assess risks – and then LIFE happens! These are the times where we need leadership and leaders. In our projects and teams, in our organisations, in our lives. 2020 has shown all too clearly that nothing in life can be taken for granted. But how do we deal with the uncertainties and complexities of life and get back on track with what’s really important? How do we lead ourselves and those around us? Join Act Knowledge director Jürgen Oschadleus as he takes a look at life in the post-Covid-19 world, and considers the implications for you, your teams and your organisation. This presentation will: Challenge you to think differently about your career, goals and legacy Revisit principles of personal leadership and accountability Outline four project types and the implications they have on how we plan, what skills we acquire, and how we engage with stakeholders Help you formulate strategies to move forward in your projects and your career Drawing on incidents in his own life, Jürgen points out the correlations between everyday life and project management and illustrates how simple yet easily overlooked project principles can help you retain focus and live a life that has meaning and adds value to those around you. Whether considering the requirements of a particular initiative, your project pipeline, or simply trying to work out where to develop your own skills and capabilities, this presentation will provide you with valuable insights and tools, and pose some critical questions to help you function well in the uncertainty of the post-Covid-19 era. Your presenter: Jurgen Oschadleus https://www.linkedin.com/in/oschadleus/ Jürgen is an international speaker, educator and consultant with a passion to see people and teams maximise their effectiveness through developing their influence and communication skills. With 25+ years of education, strategic consulting, systems deployment and leadership development projects in Africa, Europe, the USA and the Asia Pacific region, Jürgen has been exposed to a broad range of industries in both the commercial and public sector.
