Class Overview

A professional project management designation is no longer an option but a requirement in today’s competitive project management marketplace! According to KPMG and various other researchers, there has been a substantial increase in project management job descriptions where a professional project management certification is a mandatory pre-requisite for a job offer.

Learn how to prepare for the PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification examination and review key areas of the PMBOK essential for success, including: •Project Integration Management •Project Scope Management •Time Management •Cost and Quality Management •Tips and techniques for the exam

Take the opportunity to get to know other project managers seeking the PMP certification with the possibility of forming a study group to share knowledge and exam techniques within fellow group members.

The class consists of two sessions of three hours each.

Target Audience

This course is suitable for all Programme Directors, Project Managers and Project Leaders who are seeking PMP certification. This course can be also attended by candidates seeking CAPM certification.

Learning Outcomes

The aim of this course is for each participant to be able to: •Understand what is involved in obtaining PMP certification •How to approach study for the exam •Practice questions and review key topics from PMBOK 5th Edition

Participant Course Handout Materials

All participants will receive course material at the end of the second session as a reference which can be used for examination preparation. There is also the opportunity to form study groups.

Please note the 5th edition of PMBoK is available for purchase through the PMI.org Marketplace and additionally members can download a free PDF copy from the pmi.org site.

Learning Methods

This course does not provide training on project management. It provides strategic sessions where participants learn how to approach the exam along with discussion on practice questions based on PMBOK 5th Edition.

Facilitators

The Examination Preparation classes are presented by volunteers from PMISC that are certified PMP qualified practitioners and practicing project managers.

PMI Sydney Chapter Members: $120.00  (additionally, early bird and course packaging rates may apply)

Non-members: $240.00
