Biography John Yap is a Certified Scrum Master and accomplished project management professional with extensive experience delivering digital transformation and PMO‑driven enterprise initiatives. At Fantastic Furniture, he leads Agile squads enhancing the SAP Hybris Commerce platform, delivering customer‑focused improvements and operational efficiency. An active PMI Sydney Chapter volunteer for almost three years, John currently serves as Project Manager for the Project Management Day of Service (PMDoS) 2025 and previously held the leadership role of Associate Director, Volunteering, where he designed and implemented streamlined volunteer recruitment and onboarding processes while strengthening engagement across the portfolio. Recognised with the PMISC "Volunteer of the Year" Award in 2024, John is valued for being highly organised, reliable, and a strong communicator. Passionate about advancing member value, professional development, and inclusive networks, he is committed to empowering the project management community to thrive. Election Statement I am seeking election to the PMI Sydney Chapter Board to champion efficiency, collaboration, and connectedness. I believe in reducing waste, streamlining processes, and taking the most direct route to outcomes, ensuring continuity and minimising unnecessary demands on our teams. Four of my top five Gallup strengths are in relationship building, which I use to bring people together, foster trust, and create shared purpose. I lead by example, guided by the PMISC value of “Together We Can.” If elected, I will focus on building an inclusive, efficient, and connected Chapter that empowers members to thrive. |
